Emma, thank you for writing such a heartwarming post. I'm glad you could spend time with my Papa and learn about the many interesting stories he has to share about his life. This brings back so many fond memories of times with my grandparents and it's so lovely to hear that our Granny's legacy lives on. xoAliya

So wonderfully written Emma. My granny would be so touched to know she's inspired you - we're so lucky her legacy lives on through her culinary magic and artistry. Best of luck with the book! Yakira xx

Emma, my neighbour Beleza Almeida happens to be very close friends of Mervyn & Elsie during their younger days in Kitale, Africa.

What a beautiful narrative, by a thoughtful and sweet person, of 2 amazingly awesome people. Through you we the readers feel that we too know the gentleman and his wife and feel close to them. You are indeed blessed and privileged to meet Mr. Mervin and know his beautiful and beloved wife Elsie...May God bless you and Mr. Mervin too!

It was a pleasure reading your “story” about your meeting with Mervyn. I met both of them in 1999 when I visited London and stayed with my Aunt & Uncle who were friends with them. So sorry to hear that Elsie has gone to heaven, but happy to hear all that Mervyn is doing.
